Exclusive: Deepika Padukone shares her excitement on working with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi in Shakun Bhatra's next
Birthday girl Deepika Padukone is looking forward to an exciting year ahead with the release of her debut production ‘Chhapaak’ set to roll out in theatres on Friday. It is a working birthday for the beauty, who is currently in Lucknow, where she and hubby Ranveer Singh will be visiting a restaurant run by acid attack survivors.
Before flying out of the city, Deepika opened up in a candid chat with ETimes, where she spilled the beans on her marriage life, quirky fashion statements, and her upcoming projects. The actress, who will soon be getting ready to head back to the film sets for director Shakun Bhatra’s next, shared her excitement about starring with her young new co-stars Ananya Panday and Siddhanth Chaturvedi.
Speaking about her equation with the two, Deepika said, “Ananya is someone who, I've been meeting often of late and I'm really fond of her. She's a really bright, talented girl. Siddhant, I had the opportunity of meeting him several times and he’s extremely talented. But more importantly, they are just really lovely passionate people.”
Going on to talk about her director, she said, “Shakun is someone I've been dying to work with. I've really I've looked forward to this moment. I'm a huge fan of his work and think he's one of those few people who can really portray relationships beautifully. And you know, those are the kinds of films that I've enjoyed watching as an audience, and even as an actor, those are the kinds of films I enjoy performing.”
The still-untitled film that will be produced by Karan Johar, is said to be an intriguing relationship drama where the characters find themselves stuck in a morally ambiguous zone. The film that marks the first collaboration between the three stars, is scheduled for a release on Valentine’s Day in 2021.
